Everyday Minerals Christmas Palette: Falala la Lovely!

Hi everyone,

It's Christmas Eve, how cool is that? Seriously, I need to get off the computer and go to the store to get some bread for Christmas linner (that's lunch and dinner together, people!) We are going to have some yummy food and I can't wait to devour them.

Anyways, the reason I am still blogging is this palette from Everyday Minerals:

The Christmas palette, how gorgeous is that?

Each year, EDM comes up with holiday colors during Christmastime. I received some eye shadows last year as gifts with purchase and I thoroughly enjoyed them. When a representative from EDM contacted me regarding products to review, I did not intent to receive any fun colors like this. It was a surprise to open the box and see the Christmas palette.

For those who are EDM fans, the colors from this palette are not very new for you. However, in the past, they were not on sale and you may not get the colors you wanted. Last year, I really wanted the gold eye shadow but got the silver one (Silver Bells) instead. This time around, the Christmas palette makes sure you get everything you want and even some more.

Close ups and swatch are coming up after the jump!

Each palette has a small mirror and a tiny brush
You dip the brush in each pod to get the pigments and place them on the lid before applying to your eyelids.

Opened pods
From left to right: 12:01 AM, Frost Bitten, Mistletoe, Silver Bells

From Everyday Minerals:
Mistletoe - A medium green with pearlescent light pink highlights.
12:01 AM - Metallic gold with yellow undertones and bursts of shimmer.
Frost Bitten - Like pure white glistening white snow.
Silver Bells - A silver like shade with millions of little silver sparkles.

 A light swatch
(L-R): Silver Bells, Mistletoe, Frost Bitten, and 12:01 AM

Compared to the ones I got last year, the pigmentation of these eye shadows are a whole lot better. I used tiny bits for my swatch and was very surprised to see them on my skin. Also, the container is very sturdy and once the lids are closed, nothing can escape. Priced at 7 dollars, it is affordable and lovely. For those who do not have many bright eye shadows, this palette is a good introduction. I myself love gold eye shadows and 12:01 is perfect!

Ciao for now, my lovelies. I wish you all a peaceful Christmas Eve. Those who are living in the snowing area, please stay warm and dry.

And now, a disclaimer: this palette was sent to me from a kind representative of Everyday Minerals for reviewing purposes. For more information, please visit Everyday Minerals website. Click here to read My Makeup Blog disclosure policy.

  1. I really love the colors of their blushes and eyeshadows. I wish they'd press them, though. I hate how messy it is to apply loose powder.

  2. I used to be an EDM fan, but their recent practices have got me looking elsewhere. Do tell how you like working with the palettes though, I've heard they're a bit of a pain. Plus a little tip: When they run out, and you'd like to refill them, fill up the lid, and then pop it in upside down, rather than trying to squeeze the lid onto the minerals and making a mess.

I'm planning to press a few colours into my ELF compact for travel, or perhaps the a CD compact based on your tutorial. I just need pans first *sigh*.

Anyways, a woman very recently suffered a severe allergic reaction from a brand new EDM product (Abott's Pick Me Up) which she had used regularly before. The reaction ended up requiring medical attention, and costing a couple hundred in medical bills. The response from EDM when she emailed them regarding the issue was... insulting to say the least. I'd recommend a swatch test of each product before usage, just to be sure.

Anyways, I won't go into too much detail (you can read up on it at http://www.87px.net/mmf/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=456; it requires a forum sign-up) but I do look forward to a review. The colours definitely look like something I could wear, and although I won't buy from EDM anymore, a swap is feasible.

  3. Hi Alienman,

I hope they'll have pressed colors soon. The blushes are really awesome!

  4. Dear W.

I'm so sorry to hear about that. Allergy is something you can't foresee until you get an adverse reaction. I hope EDM will improve on their customer service. I do have Abbott's pick me up and it's a good concealer.

  5. This reminds me of the loose eyeshadow palette that Revlon came up with about 2 years ago. Exactly the same concept! I am just put off by the potential mess they'll create. Did you have to use some kind of mixing medium for this to stick?

  6. Hi McNunu,

Not at all! All I need is a good eyeshadow primer. I use MAC paint pot for that. It's not as messy as I thought but again, I prefer pigments over pan eye shadows.

  11. Hi,

  12. Hi Kristy,

It's about the size of my palm, which means it is not so big. Each pod contains about 1/4-1/3 teaspoon of pigments for you to play with. I don't know if EDM is doing something similar this year, though.
