Happy December!

Hi ladies,

How are you doing today? How was your Thanksgiving Day? I hope you had a good time with your loved ones. Mine was a lot of fun and surprises, especially in the kitchen. This year marked a special milestone in my life as an adult as I got to cook my first turkey! It was a 12-pound bird and I used a method described by Martha Steward et al. to cook it. Surprisingly, the whole Thanksgiving lunch/dinner did not take so long to cook: we finished in about 3.5 hours! I'm telling ya: brining is the new black, so next time when you cook your turkey, just go ahead and brine the heck out of that bird!

Did you take advantage of the coupon codes I posted for ya? Well, I was really tempted to shop until I dropped on Black Friday but I really held my horses: one haul from Coastal Scents and that was it! I'm so proud of myself. Also, today Coastal Scents have a Digital Monday sale with 25% off the total order. If you haven't gotten their 88 palette yet then it's the time to get it! I already ordered mine :)

And guess what? The whole month of November I participated in NaNoWriMo and...

I won!

It was so awesome to finish 50,000 words in a month (I actually wrote more but my novel is no where near the end!) Writing in a club does make a difference in term of word count and I am very thankful for my municipal group. Next year if I'm still in this town, I'll definitely participate more.

I'm glad November is behind us, as it was not such a good month for me. With that one week of non-blogging, I was struggling to juggle a lot of things and figured out what would happen in the near future. It was very uneasy for me and I am so thankful that those things are items in the past. Now, I'm back with blogging and writing and my life => really thankful for normalcy sometimes!

One more thing, ladies! Since it's December and all, I guess it'll be good to have at least a post a day on gifts, don't you think? I'll scour the web and post the deals here for you. Items that I selected, true to my style, are going to be $50 USD and less. After all, we're all in this economical situation together and it'll be reckless of me to suggest anything higher than that. So what do you think? Yay or nay?

Alright ladies, I hope this is a good start to the last month of the year. Take care of yourself and enjoy the holiday spirit!

Love,
Your Makeup Blogger

  3. Hi Kia,

I think I'm the only blogger who hasn't got her 88 palette yet. I got a few other things from CS as well, considering the 25% discount. The blush palette looks really awesome and I am thinking of getting their sculpting and hihglighting powder set. But I'll do it at another time :)

  4. Hi Kaolee,

Usually I don't go to Black Friday either because it's so crowded. This year I only purchased once online, much easier for the soul :)
    Have a good Monday, dear!

  5. That's great, congratulations!

Good for you to only buy from CS. We don't have Black Friday here or I'd be ruined lol.

  6. Hi Gio,

Thank you so much! NaNoWriMo was a challenge that I love to win. Black Friday is very chaotic! I think after consuming all those turkey and stuffing, people need a reason to get out of their houses and spend money :)

  7. Hi Dao--been lurking for a couple weeks, and I figure now's a great time to break the lurk hymen and congratulate you on your NaNoWriMo win! It takes way more discipline to actually complete an entry than I have ever been able to muster. Congrats!

And thanks for the Black Friday codes! I ended up using the Shu Uemura code for a Glow On blush (I've been dying to try it), and the Smashbox code for a total impulse splurge. No more new makeup for me for at least the rest of the year, I think. Looking forward to your CS post; I haven't tried any of their products yet, but I keep hearing good things about them.

  8. Hi CSB,

Thank you for your comment! I used to lurk a lot at other bloggers' website so it's OK :)

I hope you will enjoy the Glow on blush, I wrote about it before and it's my favorite blush. And please tell me more about Smashbox, I'm dying to know.

About NaNoWriMo, I couldn't think I can finish if not because of my writing group. They are awesome people who helped me a lot. If you participate again, make sure to check the write-in sessions, they are very useful.
